Hidden gems include the beautiful ‘Mara’ cello from 1711, which is played by Heinrich Schiff, the ornate 1690 ‘Tuscan Medici’ viola and the record-breaking ‘Lady Tennant’. For the true violin hunter we’ve included the ‘La Pucelle’ and ‘Marsick’ violins, which have never appeared in print before, while the ‘Clapisson’ pochette will delight and fascinate, as an excellent example of this rare instrument.
