Model: SL086
For sixty-four years William C Retford worked for William E Hill & Sons, making and repairing all types of bows. This wealth of experience manifests itself in what The Strad described as a 'truly remarkable book' (The Strad, Dec 1964).
The book is in two parts. The first part deals wholly with bow making and resotration, and is laced with workshop hints gleaned from personal experience. The second section is about bowmakers, mainly of the French and English School, and is obviously written from first hand knowledge. Between the two sections are pages of photographs of bowmakers and of a choice sekection of bows made by accepted masters.
It is a 'must' for all users of bows, and collectors.
