Eight articles and memoirs and colour illustrations of 14 instruments give an excellent introduction to the life and work of the 18th-century violin maker. Until recently, very little was known about the life of a highly regarded luthier and this exhibition drew to one place much of the research that is ongoing. This catalogue is very well presented with excellent bibliographic information for further research.
