One of the great evenings at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, is captured in this thrilling live recording. The rugged German conductor, Otto Klemperer, made a famous studio recording of Fidelio but this new set has the extra spontaneity of the live occasion, as well as a superior cast, including Sena Jurinac and Jon Vickers.
