Terms & ConditionsImportant changes in affect from January 2011
From Monday the 10th January 2011 The Strad Library will be unable to refund or replace any orders that have been made if they have not been shipped via a tracked courier service. We would strongly recommend that you contact us at ESco on +44 (0)1371 851 800 or thestradlibrary@esco.co.uk, to upgrade to this service. By doing so, one of the members from our customer service team will then be able to get back to you as soon as possible with a specific courier quote. This is a service that we highly recommend, especially with those orders made outside of the UK, as it is the most reliable, safest and traceable method of delivery. If you chose not to use this service, items will be sent out via a standard delivery and will not be eligible for a refund or be replaced should items be lost in transit, after the delivery dispatched email is received. Our courier service is a non-profit service that we are providing to ensure the best delivery for you, and we base quotes at the best rate given to us. In addition it is our policy to contact all customers whose orders have totaled over £100 with a quote. Again if the additional charge is declined, The Strad Library cannot be held liable for anything lost in transit. In order for us to dispatch via this safer method we will require payment details as we do not hold them. We would advise that you do not email credit card details as this is not a secure method and suggest that you call us on +44 (0)1371 851 800 or in turn email us at thestradlibrary@esco.co.uk, with your queries and contact number and we will give you a call back.
Important Delivery and Returns Information Whilst we endeavour to deliver your product(s) to you in the shortest possible time, please note that the following factors may affect our target turn around time: 1. We may need to order your product, especially for you The Strad Library is a unique online service that sources hard-to-obtain specialist music books and products from suppliers around the world. We can usually get our hands on even the most obscure item, but all we ask is that you bear with us whilst we are tracking it down. Higher-value and rarer books may require us to make a special order, which will increase delivery times. If your order contains a special order product or we know we’ll have to dig a little deeper to source the product for you, we promise we’ll let you know. After you have placed your order, a member of the ESco team will contact you with an initial delivery estimate and will also update you on the progress of your order. Alternatively, if you see the ’Special Order’ symbol next to a product on The Strad Library and want to know before you order how long you will need to wait to get it, you can contact ESco on +44 (0)1371 851 800 or thestradlibrary@esco.co.uk 2. The product(s) you have ordered is currently out of stock. We aim to keep the website, and the current stock levels and availability as up-to-date as possible. Where possible, it will be made clear on the site if a product is temporarily unavailable. If any of the items are currently unavailable, you can contact ESco who will give you a revised estimated delivery time and you will be asked whether you are happy to wait until we can obtain the product(s) you have ordered. As a general rule of thumb, please allow up to 28 days for your order delivery if an item is out of stock. If you need to obtain a product urgently, you can also contact ESco direct for a delivery estimate, on +44 (0)1371 851 800 or thestradlibrary@esco.co.uk 3. It takes longer to deliver to certain areas of The World. All orders placed on The Strad Library - unless otherwise specified - are dispatched via a standard mail delivery service from the UK. Please be aware that due to increased international security, especially in parts of the USA, some items may take up to 60 days to deliver from our dispatch date. This is another reason to why we would recommend the tracked courier service, so that you can monitor the progress of your order, and also have the peace of mind that even if customs confiscate the item, we would then be able to send a replacement. Below are the estimated delivery times for all items currently in stock, by region: Deliveries within the United Kingdom - Please allow up to 10 days Deliveries to Europe - Please allow up to 28 days Deliveries to Rest of World – Please allow up to 60 days
Additional Terms in Agreement 1. The period stated within which you will receive your order is approximate. Goods will be sent to the address given by you in your order and stated in the Order Confirmation. Please be careful when typing your address, as we cannot be held liable for any mistakes made by you, resulting in the loss of your item. 2. Please note that your goods may be sent to you in instalments. 3. If your delivery address is outside of Jersey, you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. You should note that customs policies vary widely from country to country; The Strad Library advises each customer to contact their local customs office for further information. 4. Please note that when shipping products internationally, you should be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities. 5. For Christmas Deliveries, we recommend that you order by the 10th December. We will endeavour to dispatch all ‘in stock’ orders within 24 hours, however we cannot guarantee delivery on or before the 24th December as the post may be delayed in your area.
Returns Policy 1. You may return any unopened items within 28 days of receiving it, for a full refund. We will refund your card once we have received and processed the item. 2. Please keep proof of returns (Postal Receipts) as if items are lost in transit and postal proof isn’t provided, we will not be obliged to process the refund. 3. We have a general 3 month cut off date for dealing with any un-received items and refund queries from the moment you receive your ‘item has been dispatched email’. After this date, we will not be obliged to fulfil any refunds, replacements or exchanges if we have not been contacted before this date. 4. Unfortunately we are unable to refund CD’s or DVD’s unless faulty, which will be tested on arrival. 5. In special cases it is in the discretion of The Strad Library to offer gift cards or discounts off your next order, should a refund be unable to be processed. 6. We will only refund delivery costs if the return is a result of our error. 7. We cannot refund or exchange an opened item unless it is faulty, or if the item was sent to you through our error. 8. To arrange the refund or replacement item please contact ESco on +44 (0)1371 851 800 or email thestradlibrary@esco.co.uk. Please package item(s) carefully with your purchase order number, Name and full Address. If items are returned damaged, we will then have the optional choice of deducting 15% from your refund. Returning a Multi buy item Discounted items can be returned to us if they are unwanted, incorrect, faulty or arrive in a damaged state. We are able to offer you a replacement for any discounted Multi buy items. Main or qualifying Multi buy items can be returned to us if they are incorrect, faulty or arrive in a damaged state.
